Reflection

This was an eye-opening course for me.  While MGMT 5133 had shown me how I can do better at teamwork, this course was a wake-up call that revealed how much change was needed in my career goals and choices.  I had been leading in churches and non-profit for twenty-five years and I didn’t know how much I didn’t know!  Within the church world we think we are teaching people how to live better.  Yet the evaluation techniqes I learned and the training methods I was exposed to in this course led me to realize that the churches I had worked for needed to change to become better learning organizations.  I also realized just how much it means to me to be a part of a learning organization.   It means being focused on ultimate goals while seeing that the goal of growing your staff is a strategic and catalyzing step to larger goal achievement.
